Book #15 from the series: Kindred

Eventide

About

“Ma douce, we are as whole as we have ever been, we only now can see it. No matter what is thrown at us, we are as one. The virus. Deceitful gods and Machiavellian angels. Perpetual storms and the dead returned to the living. It does not matter. You and I are destined for each other, and no one can tear that asunder.”

The end is near and the war - one way or another - will soon be over, but Lucinda Monk-Durand, vampire hunter by birth and Kindred to the Champion of the Iunctio, knows the final battle will be costly.

It’s already cost her so much, she’s not sure she can bear any more loss and heartache.

But no one ever said battling an Old God would be easy, and Apep, Lord of Chaos and the Underworld, is determined to win his eternal war with Ra, no matter what.

As a new set of clouds form in the evening sky, bringing fears of a return of Evernight, Lucinda and her allies must dig deep to keep fighting each new attack thrown at them.

But the hits keep coming and the losses this time are heartbreaking. Even Lucinda’s not sure they’ll survive to see Apep’s reign of terror end.

And what about the dragon shifters? And the silver bullets that have turned up in Norm hands? Lucinda races to find answers as she tries to keep her friends and family safe, all the while knowing the chances of winning get slimmer and slimmer by the day.

But she’s a Nosferatin, and they never show fear, never give an inch, and always stay on guard. It’s their motto and it always works.

Except when Lucinda’s grandkids get involved . . . then not even Nosferatin calm can save Lucinda and her Kindred in the end.
